In conversation with Australian Paralympic Gold Medalist Katie Kelly OAM. In this 75-minute deep dive with the two times paralympic athlete we will discuss her experience living with a degenerative condition, Usher Syndrome (resulting in gradual loss of hearing and eyesight), and her passion for providing sporting grants to help young Australians living with a disability access sport. Katie established Sport Access Foundation in 2017, a registered listed charity to help deliver this dream.
In this virtual masterclass** with Katie we will discuss:
What it takes to be a paralympic athlete and the barriers to entry
What having a degenerative condition means for workplace inclusion
How workplaces can engage better with people with disabilities
Her new role at Bluescope and her journey into DEI
And we will also give you a chance to put your questions to Katie*.
Following her retirement from Para-triathlon after the Tokyo Paralympics in 2021, Katie commenced a role with BlueScope in the Social Impact and Inclusion team, and also continues to work as the Founder and Director of Sport Access Foundation.
She is also an Ambassador for Inclusion Alliance (a collaboration between Deaf Sports Australia, Blind Sports Australia and Sport Inclusion Australia) and Next Sense (formerly Royal Deaf Blind Institute for Children).
This is a virtual event run on zoom.
