The Diversity Practitioners Association is proud to present Nidhi Kalaiya, Partnerships and Engagement Lead, Logit Australia, for our final 2023 Masterclass Introduction to Intersectional Frameworks.
In this workshop, you will understand the historical context of the term “Intersectionality”, why it is important and how an intersectional lens can shape a more equitable world. The material covered will provide diversity practitioners and key decision makers an understanding the impact of intersectionality in various contexts, and provide the tools to apply an intersectional framework to policies, practices, data analysis, policies, and research.
By the end of the workshop, members will be able to:
Define intersectionality and its key concepts
Explain why intersectionality is important when discussing social equity
Apply intersectionality to analyse Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategies
Understand the meaning of an Intersectional lens
Understand how to apply an Intersectional Framework
Learn how Intersectionality is practised in various contexts.

About Nidhi Kalaiya
Nidhi Kalaiya is an immigrant settler from Kenya living on the unceded lands of the Turrbal and Yuggera people. Nidhi has a degree in Political Science, a fellow from the Social Impact institute and has worked across a range of projects bringing together technology, systems design and social justice. Her work continues to centre on racial and gender equity, the environment and economic justice, with an expertise in developing of solutions that promote positive change in workplaces and communities.
